Disclaimer: This is not a love
letter, love declaration or something like that. But it’s LOVE (in a certain
way) and ADMIRATION the feelings that made me write this post. Today I want to talk you about BloodyFaster (Yalena
on youtube) a twitch streamer who has become on her own right in one of my
favorite streamers and content creators of the whole Internet. This is her
twitch small bio:
“I'm Eleni (aka
Yalena on YouTube). I'm a singer, a computer engineer & the World's Okayest
Gamer. I sing on stream, A LOT. Oh, I'm also a Mass Effect junkie. And I love
drinking scotch.”
How did I meet her?
Well, in the literal
sense of the word, I haven’t. I simply watch her live streaming on twitch. How
did I found her stream? Well, one day (June 2, 2018) I was talking with a
twitch friend called Smuckers1986, who I met on Fhaelin’s stream (that’s
another content creator, yes, twitch is like a big spider-web or “fishnet”). We
were talking about how some moderators sometimes abuse the power given to them by
streamers, when she (Smuckerz) mentioned about Bloody’s community and how good
was it, about how great were the mods there and about the amazing voice Bloody
has. I went there, but she was offline. Nevertheless, I followed her to know
when she went live. I never suspected the joyride, the HUGE rollercoaster ride
I just signed for!
To be honest, I
don’t remember which game was playing Bloody the first time I watched her
stream live. This is very weird (and somehow embarrassing, because often I presume
of having a good memory). I was there, but I felt the place “too crowded” for
my liking. I must say that she is a streamer who has an average of 200-400
viewers and still to this very date, I consider that to be a lot of people. I’m
an introvert man and even on the internet I try to stay away from “places”
where there is a lot of people. I remember she had a Pumba plush toy which she
squished a lot whenever someone subscribed to her channel. And also that
amazing song which played as an alert when that happened. Watching the chat,
also I realized that Smuckerz was right! This community had “something”! They
had captured me, body, heart and soul!!
Now, I feel the
need to clarify something: Bloody is a variety streamer. She plays a huge
variety of games, not focusing on one or two in particular. She defines herself
as the “world’s okayest gamer”. But she does not only play games. She also does
a lot of fundraising streams for charity, some of them while playing games,
some of them special streams, like the Art streaming or some “just chatting”
streams where she seeks to make people aware of those serious things in her own
particular way. One of her most notable campaigns is the one regarding St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude is leading the way the world
understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening
diseases. For May 31, she had raised 88.220,69 US$! This places her on a very
high scale of humanity, since she is capable of going great distances and doing
amazing things to support and encourage those great causes. She is not streaming
just to earn her living, she could easily work with any of her at least three
degrees she had on computing science, including Medic Informatics. She does
what she does because she wants to help needing people to have a chance!! I tell
you, Bloody, if you ever read this post, you have restored my faith in
humanity. With more people like you on this planet the suffering would be placated
and eradicated in just a matter of years!

However, nothing
comes or happens so easily! Live streaming, in spite of what a “normal” person
could think, can be a very stressing and taxing job. Yes, people of the world,
this is a JOB! I’m not going to write or argue about the reasons for me to
think like this. Bloody is a woman who has worked very hard to get where she is
now. I know that as I write this post, she maybe is attending to college, to one
of her many classes while she battles a flu or perhaps she is in the middle of
thinking about what to do next time she is live. I know she often thinks she is
not good enough! But you are wrong, Eleni! You are not just “good enough” you
are an AWESOME, AMAZING, BREATHTAKING, ASTOUNDING WOMAN who is a real BEACON
for many people! A source of hope and inspiration to many of us who could not
even manage to accomplish the half of things and stuff you’ve done in your 33
years on this world!

I know it’s not
easy. I know you sometimes feel the need to say “FUCK THIS SHIT!” or “Fuck it,
I’m out of here!” Even if one day you quit TWITCH, never QUIT ON LIFE!! Never
GIVE UP, Eleni!! You are strong!! Stronger than you ever thought! You have
accomplished so much, you have done so many amazing things that they will
endure and last you two or maybe three lifetimes! We will always be here for
you, even on the distance!! You are a truly guiding light for us all and we
will NEVER abandon you!! I’m so proud of being part of your great community!!
